Photos From My Trip

I thought you would enjoy seeing some photos from my trip. It was a such a special time, and photos say a lot more than words can….

Reunion with friends of mine from university days.
With my cousin Jon, his wife, kids and some friends of their kids.
Reconnecting with Miriam, a friend who knew my mother, and who has been faithfully praying for me since we first met in the early 1980s
A fun road trip to Ohio with Emily, Don and their daughter (right).
With friends Sue and Dasil
A visit to Lake Michigan where I saw this sign…
With Emily and Eric, fishing near their home.
Amaya, my oldest granddaughter on a 1920s carousel at the museum
Amaya loves history and wanted to go to the museum. She was thrilled to see this actual part of the Berlin Wall.
The reason she wanted to come was to visit the King Tut exhibit, all the way from Egypt.
I was looking forward to it. I had seen part of it once, during a trip to Egypt over 20 years ago!
Imagine my surprise when there, on display was the same throne and footstool I’d remembered seeing when I was in Egypt! Since then, I’ve never forgotten the verse, “Heaven is my throne and the earth my footstool…”
Amaya and I on the carousel
Ben at the Children’s Museum where he built a tower around himself.
He then designed a different tower out of transparent glass.
With Ivy after visiting “Build-a-Bear” where she created a new friend: Miss Luna–a unicorn who sings lullabies
With Ben on a trip to Grassfield’s Farms
In one of the fields at Grassfield’s farms
With the kids and friends at Grassfield’s Farms
The kids gave me flowers that I enjoyed in this vase at Sue’s house
Lloyd, Kristina, the kids and I went to the races at Berlin Raceway. We only paid $5 for admission for all of us. I had tried to use a coupon, but it was too late to use it so they offered me free tickets if I promised to come back again. I said I couldn’t do that as I was visiting from Israel and wanted to treat my kids and grandkids. The person on the other end of the phone was quiet a minute and then asked for my name and told me, “There will be four free tickets waiting for you!”
This was Abigail’s first race, Ben’s too, I think.
Asa Roy at the races.
Headphone protected our ears from the sounds of the cars.
Abigail seemed to enjoy herself!
Sue and friends from the congregation I used to go to. We couldn’t stop laughing!
My friend Sue and her sister-in-law Louise. Rich and I visited Louise’s home after our legal wedding in Grand Rapids.
A flower I liked in Louis’s garden
Amaya loved the family picnic.
Abigail enjoys fruit.
Roy (left) with Emily’s husband, Eric (right).
At last a picture of Andrea… I have no idea what they were looking at.
Emily knew how to make me smile!
All the family together, though we did miss Ivy (Jess)…
I had to take a picture of this sign as well.
My cousin Lori with her husband Jeff.
Me… just to prove I was there.
Lori, Jeff, and I went to a museum in Jim Thorpe (formerly Mauch Chunk) Pennsylvania. The museum also serves as a Presbyterian Church and has this window in the main “worship” hall. The tour guide asked us if we liked it. I told him “No.” He asked why. I explained that this picture places all religious as equal, and there is only one way to God, through Jesus. The guide wasn’t happy with my answer, and I think he was glad to see us go. But then, walking down the street, Jeff, Lori, and I met someone else who started talking to us about his problems, and he did want to hear about Jesus!
