Weak: Five Minute Friday - Growing Through God's Word

Only five minutes to write about my thoughts on the word of the week – which is weak. I set the timer and start writing.

There had been many times that I felt, “I just can’t do” something. That’s when I used to lean on God. I have changed.

Now I lean on Him every minute of the day, because I know I am weak without Him. (tweet this)

I found it amazing when I went on my mission trips to Poland how I could keep going when normally I would have given in and taken a nap.  I found out there was something about walking with God on a mission trip that makes Him all the closer.

Nowadays I think my reasoning goes like this. In most areas I am weak with out God. So why even try to do anything without enlisting His help first. Then I know no matter what I do it will be done well.

I know He likes this – our doing things together. As I set out to paint a picture, read a scripture or write a post I ask Him for help. Then my inspiration and my hands work together without any stress.

 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly (Matthew 11:28-30, The Message).”

Once again I am reminded of Allen Arnold’s new book, The Story of With. That’s the way I think our lives are meant to be – with God, then we will never be weak.
