Welcome to Worship Therapy!

Worship has been an important part of my healing journey.  On this weekly podcast,  I’ll be sharing songs and artists who have impacted my life with their gifts.

This week we will discuss letting our faith arise above out past disappointments. It’s time to take the limits off our trust and once again proclaim that nothing is impossible with the God of Miracles.

WORSHIP

Our featured song is God of Miracles by Chris McClarney.

Lyrics:

Verse
Let faith arise in spite of
what I see Lord I believe
But help my unbelief
I choose to trust You
No matter what I feel, let faith arise
Let faith arise
For my champion’s not dead, He is alive!
Oh, and He already knows my every need
Surely He will come and rescue me

Chorus
God of miracles come
We need Your supernatural
love to break through
Nothing’s impossible
You’re the God of miracles

Verse 2
Let faith arise and see the kingdom come
I lift my eyes, oh
for the battle has been won
My God is faithful, oh
and every single word
He said is true, oh

Bridge
This world is shaking
but You cannot be shaken
My heart is breaking
but I’m not broken yet
Your love is fearless
Help me to be courageous too
Oh there is nothing impossible

Repeat Chorus

WORD OF GOD

Read Mark 9:14-29

This verse is the foundation for today worship therapy song:

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” ~ Matthew 19:26

There are challenges and obstacles you will face that will feel like an impossible situation, but during these times it’s important to remember that what’s impossible for us is not impossible for God.

Today’s Therapy Session

  1. In the story in Mark 9, we hear of a boy who had spent years having convulsion and we hear the heart of a parent desperately wanting to see healing for their child. They know that Jesus has healed many already, but even in the face of what they know, there is unbelief that God would help their situation. “I believe, but help my unbelief.” What area in your life do you know God has the power to heal, redeem, and restore but you still cling to unbelief that He would do this for you?
  2.  Choose to trust God above what your feelings and emotions say. Emotions can be labile. They are not grounded in truth and can cause you to make decisions based on wrong information. God is faithful and every word He says is true. What situation in your life currently looks impossible? What battles do you feel inadequate to fight? Rest in the knowledge that though you may have experienced heartbreak, you are not broken beyond repair.
