Dutch ally to the Jews blames the Jews for Antisemitism

What all were fearing for so long has finally happened. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema has shown that she really doesn’t understand 101 on Antisemitism. But what no one could have predicted is that she would make her faux pas at a conference against Jews-hatred.

Earlier, smaller examples showed her being tone-deaf to Antisemitism.

The JTA summarized it like this (in the headline): “Amsterdam mayor accuses Netanyahu of hurting the fight against anti-Semitism.”

Now would Amsterdam’s left-wing first citizen never blame women for sexism. Rightly so, she would call anyone a sexist who’d blame the victim and suggest that women themselves provoke men to misbehave.

Her left-wing lack of humility must have been the first thing that made her trip up. You must know that, with the right-wing often being self-serving liars and thieves, they see themselves as half-holy since they fight ‘for everyone.’ But the arrogance often makes them blind to their own imperfections. How could she, for a second, forget the tremendous merit that PM Netanyahu has for watching day and night for ten years over the safety of the Jewish State and all its inhabitants? What exactly has she done to defend and protect Jews that she could criticize him?

This is not to say that her criticism had any ground in the first place.

There is very little qualitative difference between say all Jews are rich because of the Rothschilds, and left-wingers blaming Israel because of right-winger Netanyahu (who is more a centrist than right-winger).

Forget about anti-Semites (or rapists) being super-creepy strangers who suddenly jump on you. Most of them are people you know, who didn’t dedicate their lives to committing evil. These friendly people, who mean well, but still commit most of these crimes. Not from blind hatred and blood-thirst. But from a lack of knowledge, empathy, and concern.

The run-of-the-mill Antisemitism enables and lays the groundwork for the big noisy anti-Semites that draw press attention and followers.

More than anything, we must reform the petty anti-Semites (sexists, homophobes, racists, etc.). They’re the real dangers to society’s future.
