4 Ways to Improve Your Mornings - She Believes

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8

These morning habits have been such a life saver for me! Having a set of morning habits are ideal for changing your attitude and outlook for the day and even your future. Here’s my take on 4 things you can do every morning.

Making my bed

Doesn’t sound like a big deal but making my bed just sets my mood for the day. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and actually motivates me to do more. Also, it helps build up my self discipline and simply just looks much more appealing to the eyes. Sounds too simple? The way I see it is, it’s the simple things that make life that much easier.

Meditation/Prayer

However you choose to speak to God, whether its through silence or through words, God hears you. The Bible says that through wordless groans the Spirit intercedes. Sometimes sitting in silence helps you hear God much more clearer. I sometimes use a meditation app and play gentle music. This helps me clear my mind and has also helped me feel much more calm and relaxed. This can be done from anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes a day.

Reading

I dove into reading a lot. Along with the Bible, I read many other types of books by many different authors to further expand my knowledge and understanding. I wanted to see life through other peoples eyes, I wanted to look into how they think and how they view God. I also did not stray from reading non-religious books, I actually was intrigued to read from individuals who follow different religions, who view God much more different than I do. It not only helped me gain a lot of knowledge and perspective, it actually drew me closer to God. Reading just 10 minutes a day can make a big difference.

Journaling

I highly recommend journaling. Write down how you are feeling, your goals, your visions. Write about your bad days and your good days. List what you are grateful for. Don’t be shy! You have the freedom to write about absolutely anything and everything! Looking back in my journal, I have seen how I have progressively grown throughout the months and years. How many prayers have been answered. It has also reminded me to pursue past goals I had made for myself. I also sell the cutest (biased, I know, lol) notebooks on Amazon that you can use to journal on! Click here to check them out!

Not enough time?

If your lifestyle seems a little too hectic to add any one of these in to your life, choose one for now. Or even take 1 or 2 minutes on each and grab a cup of coffee. Make it enjoyable. If you want your life to be different, subtle changes in your daily life can do so much over time. Experiment this and see for yourself. You deserve a better you.

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3

Love you all.
