God Speaks… Even There

Bible

A baby born in a stable

an animal feeding trough for a bed

Straw and hay… and filth.

God chooses this place.

It will be a reminder that He provides…

just not always in the way we might expect.

He speaks… even there.

A frightened teen mother

a hesitant young father

raising the Son of God.

Not quite qualified,

but called.

And willing.

He chooses the humble

and the obedient

as His vessel for a miracle.

And He speaks… even there.

A reminder that if we are willing, He can use us too.

“Then she gave birth to her firstborn Son, and she wrapped Him snugly in cloth and laid Him in a feeding trough—because there was no room for them at the inn. ” Luke 2:7

A lowly class in society,

caring for sheep.

Shepherds keeping watch

in the darkest of night

when the sky is illuminated

supernaturally.

In fear and awe

the night watchmen walk away from their post

into the presence of a King.

And He speaks… even there.

A reminder that He sees you right where you are,

and that every person matters to Him.

When the angels had left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go straight to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.'” Luke 2:15

The wise men travel many miles

bringing valuable gifts

worthy of a king.

An act of worship and a blessing,

an offering of more value than a

gift of gold could bring–

but God’s provision

for a young family’s escape from an evil king.

And He speaks… even there.

Reminding us that He is Jehovah Jireh, “the Lord who provides.”

“Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11

Foretold 700 years before

the Christ child is born in a manger

and destined for a cross.

Love so amazing that the world

is changed forever.

More than two millennium later

that same love speaks.

Through the pain, through the tears

through the joys and the fears.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,

today, and forever.

And He still speaks… even there.

…even there your hand will lead me; Your right hand will hold on to me.” Psalm 139:10
