1 Chronicles 3

1. In 1 Chronicles 3, we were introduced to the family of David, the names of his children were mentioned.
2. In Verse 1, Amnon was introduced has his firstborn.
3. In verse 2, Absalom was introduced has his second born.

1. In Verse 7, the Bible distinguished the sons of  David from his legitimate wife and his sons from concubines.
2. This means, there are legitimate children and there are illegitimate children.
3. Any children you have from a legal marriage are legitimate children, while the children from your concubines are illegitimate children.
4. The interesting thing here is that the names of the sons from the legal wife were mentioned while the names of the sons from the concubines were not mentioned in the Bible.
5. I pray for you that you shall not make a mistake of bringing children to this world through concubines or through mistresses.
6. In 1 Chronicles 1 vs 9, Tamar was introduced as David’s daughter.
7. We can not realise the evils of polygamy if we do not remember that among David’s children, there was murder, betrayer, rape, and assassination.
8. Amnon who was the firstborn raped Tamar who was his half-sister.
9. Absalom the half-brother of Amnon assassinated Amnon in retaliation for raping Tamar.
10. Absalom betrayed his father and chased his father from the throne.
11. We could find evils happening in David’s family, and if we traced the beginning of that evil, we could see it was because David committed adultery.
12. David committed adultery with Bathsheba and killed her husband. That evil pattern continued with his children.
13. His children committed incest and murder.

Prayer

1. I pray for you today, that you shall not inherit any evil family pattern in Jesus name.
2. I pray for you that you shall not inherit the sins of your father.
3. Every curse that is moving in your family because of the evil your ancestors have committed, the blood of Jesus shall redeem you from that curse.
4. You shall not be tempted to go into polygamy.
