How To Pray Like Jesus As A Believer - Raising Zion

pray like Jesus

How is your prayer life today? When you pray everyday, do you give your all? Is it a wholehearted prayer or a spiritually weak “I need to get this done” type of prayer.

Jesus said believers need to always pray, and not faint.

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Luke 18:1

Jesus understands that we often lose fervency in our prayer life.

Pray like Jesus

When Jesus went to pray in Gethsemane, He had the disciples along with Him. While He prayed each hour, He kept reminding the disciples to pray with Him. But they kept sleeping. Their eyes were heavy and they couldn’t get themselves up to pray (Mark 14:40).

At the same time, we see Jesus talking about how his soul was grieving to the point of death (Mark 14:34). Yet, Jesus the perfect example for all mankind, did what was necessary for God’s will to be done. Pray. Pray to receive strength and be prepared for what was to come.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Hebrews 5:7

To emphasise the need for prayer, Jesus tells a story of the widow and the wicked judge. The judge who never feared God or man, gave in to the consistent and persistent requests made by the widow. The judge stated that she troubled him. God, the righteous judge and loving Father, will always listen to His children and elect who call out to Him.

Let’s do the one thing that works for our best. Pray to the Loving Heavenly Father for all things. Mainly for all what God desires for the good of mankind. Our groom is coming soon. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen!
