9 Ways God nudges you on

God gets His children’s attention in different ways for different reasons. He reaches out to give a nod of approval, pass across a warning, talk to us or provide guidance when we find ourselves at crossroads. God achieves these in various ways, but sometimes we are too preoccupied to sense Him reach out. No wonder He calls us to be still and know that He is God.

Today, I will share 9 ways God nudges His children on the right path.

1- Open doors.

They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him. Act 12:10.

Most times, God demands that you knock for Him to open doors. But sometimes, when doors open of their own accord, God wants you to walk through. When things fall in line and it seems the universe is aligned, God is nudging you in that direction.

2- The still small voice 4

and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire [a]a still small voice. 1 Kings 19: 12

For Elijah, it was a small but audible whisper. For you, you know you can barely hear it, yet it comes in powerful waves of convictions. And you know God is nudging you to take a couple of steps in that direction.

3- The louder voices

Plans are established by seeking advice; so, if you wage war, obtain guidance. Proverbs 20:18.

Some voices are louder. Louder, you hear them. God puts some loud voices in our lives to nudge us in the right direction. Loud as they may seem, maybe you ignore yours occasionally. God uses our mentors, pastors, prophets, and his children to nudge us in the right direction.

4- The Universe and Nature

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night, they reveal knowledge. Psalm 19: 1-2.

The universe and nature declare God’s glory. God uses his creation to inspire and nudge in certain directions in life. Have you sat by the beach and breath in the sea spray with inspiration suddenly rushing along?

5- The written words

There is nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us the truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word, we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17.

6- The spoken words

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21.

7- Circumstances

“And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.” Romans 8: 28.

God speaks to us through situations.

8- Donkeys.

Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psalm 8:2.

Sometimes God speaks through the most unlikely sources. He spoke to Balaam through his braying donkey. So don’t neglect godly counsel from the most unlikely sources. However, nothing God says counters the scriptures. So, test every word against the words of God.

9- The Holy Spirit.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

Does not matter how God talks to you, God does not go against the bible. So use the bible as the yardstick.
