Intentional Joy

It’s that time again when we share how things are going with our One Word for the year. You can join or read to see how others are doing with their one word HERE @ Lisa Notes ONE Word Community.

I’ve been taking time lately to reflect on joy intentionally. My heart has been feeling weighed down lately. Not about any one thing in particular. Several things come to mind. I seek Jesus in my every day, so I thought instead of letting the weight weigh me down, I took this past month to seek joy intentionally.

These are joys I’ve found and Joys I already had

~ Finding cloud animals, like one of the seven dwarfs and a teddy bear waving.

~ Watching the trees blowing in the wind.

~Watching the hummingbirds, birds, squirrels, and bunnies.

~Felling sunshine on my face.

~ Majestic storms and soothing thunder.

~ Dog kisses & snuggles.

~ Playing with my dog and laughing when she is a nut.

~ Hearing the neighborhood kids laughing.

~ Watching and admiring the flowers growing in the garden.

~ Talking to people in the store whom I don’t know and seeing them smile.

~ I love elderly people and enjoy intentionally talking to them in the store or offering to help them reach something. You never know if you will be the only one they talk to that day.

~Watching newly falling snow and delighting as it covers the ground and clings to trees.

~ The first cup of freshly brewed coffee in the morning.

~ Stomping in rain puddles (Yes, still).

~ The smell and taste of fresh out of the oven homemade bread.

I’m on an intentional journey to seek joy every day as I seek Jesus in my every day.
