We all need help.

Good day beautiful people

I hope that this post meets you well? Today I want to remind every reader especially believer’s in positions of leadership of why it is important to accept support and help from others! No one was created to journey this life all alone. And if you try to do everything all by yourself you will have a breakdown. When workload is evenly shared between a group of people one is more likely to be able to achieve a specific goal and do so effectively by having the right people around them.

I always like to look at Christ as the perfect example when it comes to living the good life. Even though Jesus was God in flesh appearing (100% God and 100% man) He still surrounded Himself with men known as the disciples who helped Him with His ministry during His time on earth. And also continued to spread His name and message throughout the world after His ascension. Now this tells me something, if God the Son who is all powerful had people around Him supporting His ministry, how much more do we who are humans and have limitations need help and support from others. (Just let that sink in).

Matthew 26:36-38 ~ “Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” He took Peter and Zebedee’s two sons, James and John, and he became anguished and distressed. He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

Luke 8:1-3 ~ “Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.”

Matthew 10:1 ~ “Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.”

Luke 10:1-2 ~ “The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

We are not machines and if we keep pushing our bodies into overdrive eventually our bodies and minds will no longer be able to function at optimal capacity. I believe that a lot of the time people hold this view that individuals who hold certain positions in life rarely experience low moments, but the truth is that the strong sometimes feel weak, and the encourager also experiences moments were they feel discouraged. Which is why it’s always good for us to check in on one another.

Some biblical examples

Ezra 10:4 ~ “Get up, for it is your duty to tell us how to proceed in setting things straight. We are behind you, so be strong and take action.”

^^^In ministry you need people behind you who will support you to be strong and take action!

Romans 16:21 ~ “Timothy, my fellow worker, sends you his greetings, as do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, my fellow Jews.”

^^^ Paul had a lot of people who surrounded and supported him. You cannot run this race we call life alone in isolation. You need loving family and friends to uphold you.

Romans 16:3 ~ “Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in the ministry of Christ Jesus.”

^^^Nobody can run a ministry alone.

2 Chronicles 29:34 ~ “But there were too few priests to prepare all the burnt offerings. So their relatives the Levites helped them until the work was finished and more priests had been purified, for the Levites had been more conscientious about purifying themselves than the priests had been.”

^^^Church/Kingdom building requires all hands on deck. It’s also wise to accept help (godly assistance) from other believers.

2 Chronicles 35:18 ~ “Never since the time of the prophet Samuel had there been such a Passover. None of the kings of Israel had ever kept a Passover as Josiah did, involving all the priests and Levites, all the people of Jerusalem, and people from all over Judah and Israel.”

^^^ Everyone in the body of Christ should be involved in Kingdom building. No one should feel left out. Everyone has a purpose and everyone has useful skills (God-given gifts).

[Side-note: Remember to take that much needed break so that you don’t end up having a breakdown. And learn to depend on God and trust that He is the perfect Helper who will supply all your needs].

I hope you enjoyed today’s read! God bless you all and may your week be filled with God’s joy and peace.
