The human condition is deprived of every good thing because of sin. The love that we possess is weak, leaving us miserable and exhausted. It’s not true love but selfishness comprising of personal passions and lusts. Our love is biased and fleeting at the same time. This kind of love lasts only till personal interests get met. It is not a love that loves no matter what!

Jesus taught us to love others as He loves us. What are some love learnings from the life of Jesus?

Five love lessons from the life of Jesus

  1. Love God with all your heart, mind and strength. (Matthew 22:37) Jesus did not care what people thought or said about Him. They tried tempting Him, but His love for God poured out wisdom.
  2. An obedience that did not distract Him from fulfilling the will of God. (John 15:10) Jesus displayed a focus that confirmed His love for The Father in Heaven. Jesus proved how loving God produces obedience that prepares us to live an overcoming life and inherit the throne.
  3. Love that produces the faith of the Son of God. (Galatians 2:20) Faith that raised Jesus from the dead. The only faith that helps overcome anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.
  4. He displayed a forgiveness that prays for enemies and false accusers. (Matthew 5:44)
  5. Jesus did not live by what he saw and heard. (Isaiah 11:1-3) He corrected others by the righteousness of God. The word of God.

Let’s desire the best standard of heaven and earth, Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords. The reason we know what love is is because of Jesus.

He is the author of the faith produced by God’s love. Faith that moves mountains and overcomes Satan, preparing us for the coming of the Lord.

Reject every other kind of love in prayer and surrender to God. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
