Return To Rest

Scripture

Let my soul be at rest again, for the Lord has been good to me.

Psalm 116:7— VOICE

Encouragement

So often, we have to speak to ourselves, you know, that internal dialog. Usually, when we’re weary, we don’t want to talk much. We typically like to sit down and not speak. We need to remember to tell ourselves to keep going and trust God.

The significance of Psalms 116:7 is that sometimes we need to remind ourselves to return to rest. Huh, that means that we leave or forget to rest. Why would we do that? For a lot of reasons, but one is that we take situations on ourselves and try to fix them and forget that we serve a God that is good to us. He takes care of us. We don’t need to worry or leave a place of rest.

Return To Rest— So today, if you are weary and forget He is good, go back and remember. Tell yourself, “return to rest, my soul, for God is good to me.”  Click To Tweet

Pray

Lord, thank you so much for reminding me that you are good and have every situation or problem of mine in control. I celebrate that I can rest in you today and every day. Thank you for the soul rest. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
