40 Fashion Verses Needed for a Decent Lifestyle

Fashion is a controversial topic among Christians. Choosing what to wear or use on the body must glorify God in all respect. Fashion verses could be found in the Bible and be used as the code of conduct.

As a Christian or child of God have you thought of what the Bible says about fashion? You may fall into the hands of the devil if you are obsessed with outward beauty. While many of us are looking for fashion verses, I have laid hands on several of them. Unarguably your dress code or outlook speaks a lot about your personality or character.

The lustful desire of our youth could force them to patronize indecent clothing that contradicts Biblical doctrine. The scriptures command young people to maintain a pure life.

“How can a young person maintain a pure life? By guarding it according to your instructions!” (Psalm 119:9)

The Bible warns every Christian believer to stay away from loving the world; its wealth and materialism. The Word further instructs both men and women to dress decently in a way that will glorify God. Again, the scriptures advocates for modesty, gentleness and decency in the life of every Christian.

The world is seeing an expansion and advancement in the fashion industry. May we be careful about some of their products as children of God. Even most of the products are unnecessary for a true born-again Christian. Some have already forgotten about their inner beauty and adorned themselves with every kind of fashionable clothes which are often indecent and shameful in the sight of the Lord.

Scriptures About Fashion

May these fashion verses below teach you the requirement of a follower of Christ in terms of dressing and the usage of other materials for adornment.

“Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God is with me and protects me on this journey I am taking and gives me food to eat and clothing to wear, and I return safely to my father’s home, then the LORD will become my God.” (Jacob 28:20 – 21)

1. “Now the Israelites had done as Moses told them – they had requested from the Egyptians silver and gold items and clothing.” (Exodus 12:35)

3. “A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor should a man dress up in women’s clothing, for anyone who does this is offensive to the LORD your God.” (Deuteronomy 22:5)

4. “Now John wore clothing made from camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist, and his diet consisted of locusts and wild honey.” (Matthew 3:4)

God provides clothing and other material needs

5. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing?” (Matthew 6:25)

6. “Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers of the field grow; they do not work or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith?” (Matthew 6:28 – 30)

7. “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For there is more to life than food, and more to the body than clothing. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!” (Luke 12:22 – 24)

8. “I have desired no one’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine provided for my needs and the needs of those who were with me.” (Acts 20:33 – 34)

Fashion verse from 1 Timothy 2:9

If so, have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil motives?” (James 2:2 – 4)

12. “Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Luke 12:33 -34)

13. “Command those who are rich in this world’s goods not to be haughty or to set their hope on riches, which are uncertain, but on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment. Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others. In this way they will save up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the future and so lay hold of what is truly life.” (1 Timothy 6:17 – 19)

14. “You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” (James 4:4)

30.”However, it was not until the first day of the eleventh month of the fortieth year that Moses addressed the Israelites just as the LORD had instructed him to do.” (Deuteronomy 1:3)

Bible verse about fashion

40. “But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” (1 Peter 3:4)
