9 Scriptures That Prove God Loves You

Forbidden. Scandalous. Unthinkable. These words describe God’s love for you.

If these bible verses do not scandalize you, then you have not taken them literally and seriously enough. God’s love is not a parable. It is as real as God is. He honors His words above His name. He also said none of His words would go without being fulfilled.

I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Thy walls are continually before me. Isaiah 49 vs. 16a

God cannot stop thinking about you.

Imagine approaching God’s throne in heaven. He waved his hands to bid you to come closer. From where you stand, even though blinded by his glory, you barely notice the inscriptions on His hands. You don’t know what they are. But as you draw closer, you see your name engraved on God’s hands. Then you realize how much God cares about you. He thinks about you day and night. He would do nothing without thinking of you. If you still don’t understand the implications of this scripture, coat the palms of your hands in ink in the morning and see how many times it comes to mind before sunset.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3 vs. 16

That you mean a lot to Him

Death is the ultimate sacrifice, and God paid it for your love. Sometimes, diamonds buy our love. But God didn’t woo you over with diamonds. He extended His love towards you by giving the life of His begotten son. Could God have gone cheap? The blood of goats? Sheep? Diamonds? But somehow, in His sight, you were worth the ultimate sacrifice. The wonder here is not that God stooped so low to save you but that you are worth the life of God.

He has brought me to the banquet hall, and His banner over me is love. Songs of Solomon 2: 4

God cheers you on at His banquet table.

Do you remember those prom nights? You have waited and hoped for his invitation all week. The invite came. You feel fantastic as you walk hand in hand with him to the banquet table. He presents you before all. His banner over you is love. Christ presented you before His Father, listing you under His banner of love. It didn’t matter what you were or have been. It didn’t matter your shortcomings. You are worthy of sitting at the Father’s banquet. Today Christ cheers you on still and rallies you to His banner of love.

But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God’s love is extravagant.

The first thing I learned about love, don’t waste it. It takes two to tangle, they say. I had crushes, but they were never mutual. So I moved on. But God doesn’t move on. His love is reckless. He loves everyone, even if they don’t love Him back. When we were sinners, Christ died for us. So what will He possibly hold back when we believe Him? We love Him because He first loved us.

He found Him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; He led him about, He instructed him, he kept him as the apple of His eye.—Deuteronomy 32:10.

You are the apple of God’s eyes, and no one touches you.

Isn’t that romantic? You are the apple of God’s eye. He sees you in His reflection. He treasures you like you adore the apple of our own eyes. He guards you day and night. He hides you under the shadow of His wings. In His love, you will fear no foe. His presence watches over you. His love surrounds you. His light unravels you. His strength protects you. Where you go, God is.

Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8: 37-39

He loved us and handed over His trophy to us.

Consider a man with Hulk Hogan’s physique. He has finished wrestling his fiercest opponent, and as he collects his trophy (the symbol of his victory), he hands it over to his more petite lover, transferring her the right of ownership. His love is not the conqueror, but she is more than the conqueror. God made an open show of darkness and handed you His trophy. God made you more than a conqueror through His love.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 38

That His love is Unconditional love, it is truly for better or for worse.

I am sinful. I have been unfaithful. I don’t measure up. I don’t deserve His love. I am mortal. I am incapable. While I am so many things opposing God’s love for me, none can separate me from His love. Even in death and beyond death, God still loves me. For my sake, He sought out the sting of death. So when earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, it can be said that God’s love for me still endures.

I belong to my beloved, and His desire is for me. Songs of Solomon 7: 10

God is yours, and you are God’s.

Since the day He bought you with His own life at Calvary, God hasn’t looked back. He said, be mine, and you replied, yes, lord. You are a big part of God’s heart. God’s heart longs and beats for you. God’s heart burns with love for you.

The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17

God is not a heart-breaker.

At no point in your life will God desert you. His love is forever. Here on earth, and even when you see Him in heaven. When all is well, He will love you. When you are done, He will lift you in His love. When your storm roars, His love will bring you calm.
