The Triune God is our Entrance into New Jerusalem

Ephesians 2:18 declares that “through Him [Christ Jesus] we both have access in one Spirit unto the Father.” This is the three of the Triune God working together to bring us into Himself, which brings us into New Jerusalem.

The Son came to be our channel, and through this channel we get into the Spirit, and the Spirit brings us unto the Father. We may also say that through Christ we have access in one Spirit into the Father. We do not only come unto the Father, but we also come into Him. Through the Son as a channel and by the Spirit as a sphere, we have been brought not only unto the Father but also into the Father. The three persons of the Godhead are the three gates that form one complete entrance.

New JerusalemNew Jerusalem has three gates on each of its four sides (Rev. 21:12-13). The spiritual meaning of this is that the Triune God is available in all directions for people to come into Him and thus into the city.

The requirement to begin entering the Triune God and the city is a simple prayer to admit we are a sinner, accept forgiveness through the Son’s redemptive death, and ask the Triune God to come into us.

Then by taking spiritual nourishment—the milk of the Word of God—we grow (1 Peter 2:2) further into New Jerusalem. And by holding in spirit onto Christ Jesus, we are joined and knit together with other believers for the building of His Body which will be eternally manifested as the New Jerusalem.
