anointing

Memorise: “It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments” (Ps 133:2)Read: Psalm 133:1-3

When Isaac prayed that God should release the dew of Heaven on Esau in Genesis 27:28, he was saying, ‘May you ever have rain in its season’. Deuteronomy 28:12 says, “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow”. When God opens His treasure house to you, you become so blessed that nations will queue up to borrow from you. That shall be your portion this year in the mighty Name of Jesus.Recently, I returned from a trip. A particular young girl was thrown into prison. Both the press and electronic media including the CNN were on her trail. This made me to ask what was special about the girl, afterall, many girls end up in prison daily without anyone making a fuss over it.

Then they told me she was the only daughter of the owner of a popular hotel chain, located in most countries of the world. Asking God to give you the dew of Heaven is another way of saying you will never lack rain, you will never know dryness again. Someone once said the level God had taken him to made it impossible for money to stop coming his way. When I asked him how, he said he had several houses dotted around the land. When the heavenly windows are open over you, you cannot stop the rain from falling.

Dew also stands for anointing. Psalm 133:1-3 compares the anointing with dew. The implications of the anointing are: It destroys yokes. This means there is no permanent bondage for the anointed.

Also, it acts like fire to burn ropes binding the anointed like the case of Samson. In Psalm 23:5, David said he was anointed in the presence of his enemies. The implication of this is that when the dew of Heaven falls upon you, and you begin to prosper, your enemies will be multiplied. Nobody wants to trouble the man with a fairly used bicycle or a man with one or two ordinary clothes.

But when people realize that the value of what you are wearing – your clothes, shoes and watch is enough to buy a house, you had better secure your house. However, if it is the dew of Heaven bringing your prosperity, no number of enemies can harm you.

Father, your blessings add no sorrow. As you prosper me exceedingly this year, equally deal with all the enemies that are negatively attracted to me                          By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
