What to Do When You Run Into Your Ex
Have you ever dreaded the thought of if and when you run into your ex?
Spoiler alert: It’s most likely that it’s bound to happen sooner or later. Especially if you share the same social circles. You know, you have family/close friends who are still connected. Perhaps you went to college together and reunions happen all the time.
Maybe your connection is very close and very current. Such as, you work together or attend the same church.
Yeah, it’s not so easy when you wanna get away from a guy but you can’t due to the circumstances.
So what should one do? I mean, it’s not like you can stop going to work. And missing out on YOUR encounter with God simply because you don’t want to see homeboy worship is a big no-no in my book!
What are your options then? If it’s bound to happen, are you stuck feeling like a mouse trapped in a corner?
I would certainly hope not! You see, I got messy one season. I started dating a guy who is the cousin and BFF of my cousin’s husband. So, no matter how much time has passed, whether I’m married or not, there’s bound to be a family occasion where this guy might pop up!
Now, I’ll be honest, at first, this used to cause me some major anxiety. I wasn’t sure what to say or do. I would worry myself sick about seeing a glimpse of my past. Even worse were all of the feelings that would rise up from the pains and past hurts I once felt. I definitely did NOT want to go through all of those feelings again.
For a long time, I even considered missing the events altogether.
