How To Grow In Spiritual Maturity As A Youth? - Raising Zion
The only way to receive spiritual maturity is through Godly wisdom. Not human intelligence or experience.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James 3:17
This places children and youth at a huge advantage as they too can seek the Lord like everyone else. Though they still need to learn how to come under spiritual leaders. The advantage children and youth have is rectifying their own life, having a clear purpose and living for Jesus at an early age.
Grow in spiritual maturity as a youth
1. SEEK COUNSEL: do not be like Rehoboam who sought young counsel rather than older people. Be like Timothy who walked in the way of his spiritual elders. Timothy came under Paul’s subjection. Get yourself a spiritual mentor who encourages you to pray and meditate on the word of God.
2. BELIEVE: walk by faith. Remember and share about God’s work having known God thus far. The evidence is in your heart and lifestyle (fruit). Desire to live freely. Freedom is only found in us when we wholly trust in God.
3. BE AN EXAMPLE: do not let your youth be despised (1 Timothy 4:12). The word of God will keep us young forever.
4. SEEK GOD PERSONALLY: Stop spending all your time googling or YouTube for answers. Desire God’s presence first. Get your affirmation or validation from God. Not from man.
5. EXPECT TO HEAR FROM GOD: Jesus said, my sheep hear my voice.
Only Love keeps us focused on the object of our affection. Love God, and everything we do will glorify Him. Only Love will help us grow in spiritual maturity as a youth. Love is patient and helps us see everything through the eyes of God. May God help us all; Maranatha, praise God and amen.
