Memorise: “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms” (Jer 51:20)

Read: Jeremiah 51:19-24

Jesus Christ is the Wonderful. The implication of this is that He is capable of introducing changes into situations and circumstances in order to obtain a different but desired result.

As the Wonderful, the limits of men is the beginning of His abilities. Have you come to the end of the road on a particular matter? Go to the Wonderful, praise and sufficiently worship Him, and invite Him to give you a pleasant surprise package. You will suddenly discover a way in your wilderness.

“Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms” (Jer 51:20). One of the reasons Jesus Christ is called the Wonderful is so that by the time He reveals Himself to us as the Wonderful, not only would our lives be full of wonders, but that He can use us as agents of His wonders. You can become the Lord’s battle axe. You can become a divine weapon in addition to the ones listed in Ephesians 6:11-18.

A brother was seeking God’s face over a period of time. One day, he dreamt that some people (angels) came to him and began to perform an operation on him. They were trying to take off his physical hand while he resisted vehemently. He thought they were enemies but he was powerless compared with their strength.

Thereafter, they replaced his hand with an iron hand before leaving. He woke up and began to examine his right hand which did not look any different from its physical form but spiritually, it was now made of iron. He was afraid but then the Holy Spirit calmed his fears and explained to Him that a transformation had just taken place to equip him for higher assignments and battles ahead.

In Mark16:17-18, Jesus says if you know Him as the Wonderful, you too will become full of signs and wonders. There is a spiritual kitting taking place. Although you may never have seen yourself wearing shoes, breastplate, belt, helmet, taking a sword, etc., yet that is how you are dressed when you completely obey Jesus and know Him as the Wonderful.

The apostles knew the Wonderful to the point that signs and wonders freely flowed from them (Acts 5:12). To what extent do you know the Wonderful? Not knowing Him as Wonderful amounts to wasting God’s graces.

Lord Jesus, reveal yourself to me as the Wonderful to the extent of making me a wonder to my generation.
