To follow is to… go after.
Indeed, to follow is to… move behind someone in the same direction.
Following God is sometimes so easy.
As He leads us into more fulfilling work, sweeter relationships, and better conditions, it’s so easy to follow Him.
However, when God starts heading down a lonely path or a difficult road, I find myself hesitating.
My steps slow, my mind starts coming up with excuses, and I start dragging my feet.

I like to think of following God as a great “adventure.”
It’s never boring.
Truly, it’s never predictable.
And, it’s usually not easy.
Adrian Rogers once said, “You’ll have to make a decision at some point – to stay put or to risk it all, following Him!”

What if we chose to go on the “adventure” with Him this year – in complete faith that He will lead us perfectly where we need to go?
What if we decided to RISK it all and follow Jesus?

To further assist us in stepping out in faith today, I’m sharing 10 Bible Verses to Inspire You to FOLLOW After God:
Verse One – Joshua 14:14
(Speaking of Caleb’s faith and obedience) “Hebron still belongs to the descendants of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite because he wholeheartedly followed the Lord, the God of Israel.”
Verse Two – Matthew 4:19-20
‘Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
And they left their nets at once and followed him.’
Verse Three – Matthew 8:19-22
‘Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”
Another of his disciples said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”
But Jesus told him, “Follow me now. Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead.”’
Verse Four – Matthew 16:24
‘Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”‘

‘Then Peter said to him, “We’ve given up everything to follow you. What will we get?”

“Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.”
Verse Nine – Galatians 5:25
“Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.”
Verse Ten – 1 Peter 2:21
“For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.”
My prayer this week is that we will so trust in our great God that we will follow Him.
