Out For A Drive

Out For A Drive

* This post was originally published on July 30, 2021 and is part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up. Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single word prompt to free-write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes. This weeks word prompt is {DRIVE}

Kate said DRIVE

I used to love driving in the past, especially in the summer. Windows down, warm summer air blowing on my face.

I’m one of “those” drivers. You know, with the window down and the air conditioner on. Why? I love the wind blowing on my face, but then again, depending on the day’s heat like to be cool.

However—as I approach 50 next week— I find that I really don’t enjoy driving like I used to. I appreciate it when others drive.

Again, in the summer, friends or family allow me to have my window down instead of having the air conditioner on. There’s something about having warm summer air blowing in my face while driving that relaxes me.

I enjoy when others drive because it allows me to be attentive to God’s creations. I am in awe with Him, His splendor, life, and love. His nature and blooming life all around.
