More Than a Film: All About JESUS REVOLUTION

If you watch the news like I do, you know that America is at a crossroads right now. We see our nation unraveling right before our eyes. Why? Because we’ve rejected what God says in His Word.

As I see all this, I can’t help but think about how closely this time relates to the late 1960s, early 1970s.

Yes, I’ve been around that long!

A Culture Parallel to the 70s

I was born in 1952; Elvis was still singing, Marilyn Monroe was on the screen, Ike was president. . .

But out of all the decades that have passed since then, I look at today—especially at our young generation—and I’m reminded a lot of what was happening around the early 1970s.

We have an increase in drug usage, self harm, overdosing, division, anxiety and depression. But we’re not going to take it all lying down. We need to do all we can to reach this generation.

We don’t get to decide when a revival will happen; that’s up to God. But we can do our part by asking God for it in prayer, preparing the ground, and getting our hearts ready. Revival starts with you and I.

JESUS REVOLUTION’S Importance

That’s why JESUS REVOLUTION was created. It’s us trying to make a spiritual difference in our world.

It’s a film, but our prayer is that it becomes something more than that.

Revolution means to return to something. We’re returning to New Testament Christianity, the faith given to us from the Lord, practiced by the Early Church.

During the Jesus Movement, tons of people were coming to Christ. It was happening all around the country—and California was the center of it. I want to see it here again.

We’re using JESUS REVOLUTION as a God-given tool. It’s been seven years in the making but God’s timing is 100% perfect. At this point in our broken culture, we so desperately need something like this.

I think this film can really make an impact.

There are many twists and turns with conflicts, disappointments—situations we can all relate to. It has a truly relatable story, one where every viewer can find themselves. And it’s presented in such a powerful way, showing how Christ can really heal and restore, which makes us think about what He can do with today’s generation.

We also have an amazing cast. Among others, Joel Courtney as Greg Laurie, Kelsey Grammer as Chuck Smith, Jonathan Roumie as Lonnie Frisbee, and Anna Grace Barlow as Cathe Laurie all give brilliant performances and make the story come to life.

But what really makes this film unique is that the gospel is embedded throughout it and it’s made complete with a sinner’s prayer, giving people the opportunity to invite Christ into their lives. We’ve never seen that in a film before.

We want people to watch this movie and say to themselves: I want this, too. We want them to see God’s power, all that He offers, and choose Him.

When we were shooting the baptism scene, one of the actors was baptized in character, but came up to me right after wanting to accept Christ and be baptized in real life. Of course, I did as he asked!

It’s my hope that this film leads to more making decisions to follow Christ and, with God’s will, inspires yet another Jesus Revolution.

God did it once and He can certainly do it again.

Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You? —Psalm 85:6, NKJV

That’s a prayer of The Psalmist. Our prayer should be, “Lord, do it again.”

Share the trailer, take someone to the theater February 24, and please pray for a successful, impactful film!
