A Teen's Daily Struggles: Finding Purpose in Life

Many teens face struggles in finding the purpose and meaning of their life. Adolescence is a period when teens start thinking of their values, worldviews, identity, and purpose. It’s an age where many uncertainties, pressures, and changes arise, causing many teenagers to feel lost and uncertain of their future.

However, through the Word of God, these uncertainties about the purpose of our lives become clear with a clear direction and path. To find purpose, you must first be open to seeking God’s guidance.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

Acknowledging that God knows you and has a plan for your life before you are born is the first step to finding purpose.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." James 1:5

Finding purpose may be confusing and challenging, but those who ask find, those who seek will find, and those who knock on the door will open. Don’t give up on praying to the Lord for wisdom and guidance!

God has blessed us with unique talents and abilities. Discovering these gifts can lead you to find meaning in life.

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." Romans 12:6-8

Everyone has their gifts, but many teens feel as if they haven’t discovered them yet. But don’t worry! Don’t give up on finding and using your special gifts according to God’s will.

Finding your purpose isn’t always easy. There will be setbacks, temptations, and trials, but remember that God will always be with you. God will be with you in the daily situations as you grow in serving others.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

But let’s not become weary in doing good but persevere through the challenges and be able to uncover the path He has set for you!
