Babies Worshiping God!

You don’t have to search very hard on Youtube and the Internet in general to find dozens of pictures and testimonies about babies worshiping God. Now what do you think? Does it really happen? Or are all these pictures and videos photoshopped? And does the Bible have anything to say about the spiritual lives babies? I remember one of the first pictures I ever saw on the internet of a baby with eyes closed and hands lifted to heaven where the parents said, “we were just doing a session at photographers of our baby. And all of a sudden unprompted she just closed her eyes and lifted her hands towards heaven and just stayed in that position for a few minutes. Fortunately, the photographer captured the picture which went viral.

    Is this normal?

So the question is are there other incidents of this happening? Well, as a matter of fact, there are many. I want to show you just a few clips I’ve found on the internet that are amazing.

The truth is it’s possible for babies to worship and praise God spontaneously and there is scriptural purpose and backing for this. Psalm 2:8 says “through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” So not only is it a thing, but there’s purpose behind it.

Out of the mouths of babes

I’ve thought a lot about this verse. We’ve got the first part of that verse down pat—“out of the mouths of babes.”

In modern day culture we have come to interpret this to mean “you never know what kids are going to say!” It could be profound or it could be embarrassing! But oh well—out of the mouths of babes…

But what about that last part of that verse—establishing a stronghold against the enemy and silencing the foe and avenger. What does that mean in regard to babies praising and worshiping God?

Remember – we’re talking about babies here. Infants who apparently have not even developed the ability to speak fluently yet! So, what does their praise look like and could it stop the avenger in your home and families?

    Babies can silence your enemies

The new living translation says “you have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.” So, first of all, that’s assuming something. It’s assuming we have taught our babies and infants about God and his strength.

Some will say, yes but see, it says children, to which I say, that’s fine, but if you go to the actual Strong’s concordance, #1025 and look at the original Hebrew word the literal translation is

    Definition
An unborn child, embryo, a fetus, A new-born child, an infant, a babe

This should give us pause, that it’s never to early to begin to soak our children in the word of God because it’s their innocent child-like faith that can stop our enemy in his tracks! And it may just impact your whole family!

I have an entire teaching on Babies & God in my School of Supernatural Children’s Ministry where I have time to go into much more depth on this topic. (See it here. https://buff.ly/39vExYK )

Is it possible to teach babies?

We need to ask ourselves if it’s even possible to teach babies to worship God. Well, do you remember the Scripture in 2 Timothy 3:5 where Paul is writing to Timothy and he says “and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Once again in the original Hebrew, the word infancy literally does mean infants! So apparently little Timothy’s mom and grandmother wasted no time in soaking their little boy in the Torah and the things of God.

In fact, science even teaches us babies learn things in the womb! Now, we’re not talking about teaching them the alphabet or how to read a book.

Babies can learn in the womb!

But sciencemag.org posted on their website: “Babies actually do learn to recognize words in the womb. They said be careful what you say around a pregnant woman. As a fetus grows inside a mother’s belly, it can hear sounds from the outside world—and can understand them well enough to retain memories of them after birth, according to new research. So, it’s not a stretch to believe that we can begin to influence our unborn babies spiritually in this way in what we say around them, and the places we expose them to.

I have spoken with parents of very spiritually gifted and prophetic children, when I asked them how did their kids become so prophetic, these parents would say they prayed over their babies, laid hands on the babies in the womb and prophesied over them, spoke Scriptures over them, sang worship songs to them, and read the Bible to the unborn infants frequently – in some cases daily!

Many of these parents also had other children prior to getting saved and did not do these same things. According to their testimonies the differences spiritually between them were like night and day.

    Unborn children in the Bible

Even in the Bible there were unborn children and small babies who had significant spiritual encounters and experiences with God.

For instance, Jacob and Esau fought for supremacy in the womb and according to the Bible it was a very significant prophetic act! The point was the younger brother would rule over the older one, and it had ramifications for Jacob’s descendants because Jesus himself was in the family line. Jacob was a God worshiper, but Esau did not. He was not a spiritual man at all. God had an agenda in this prophetic act.

John the Baptist was a fascinating baby. The Bible says that baby John was filled with the holy spirit while still in the womb! Talk about a spiritual experience! It is recorded that he also leaped in his mother’s womb at the sound of the voice of Mary who was carrying baby Jesus! Unborn baby John was obviously very sensitive to the spirit of God! And chances are your children are too!

Frequently when pregnant mothers have asked for me to pray over their unborn babies, I have felt them begin to kick and move excitedly when I have laid hands on them as I prayed.

    Babies see angels too!

So, if unborn babies can be influenced and learn, think how much more a child learns once he or she is born!

Just because a baby can’t communicate verbally with us, doesn’t mean nothing is happening in the spiritual arena of their lives.

I’ve had many parents tell me their babies see angels. They tell stories about their babies staring into a corner of the room and smiling and laughing for long periods of time. And no one is there! Again I talk more about this in my video babies and God.

So now we need to begin to view our babies from a spiritual perspective and recognize the responsibility we have for the spiritual development of our children from before birth and after at home and in the church.

God has written a book about babies

Psalms 139:16 tells us he planned for our existence long before we were ever born!

It says, “you saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

God is a writer. He has a book, and he talks about babies in it before they are even conceived!

This is just one of the Scriptures that tells us clearly God has a plan for our babies lives!! We need to begin to pray over that perfect plan while they are still unborn! That speaks bigtime into the culture of our day where the world tells us they are dispensable.

What can a fetus experience in the womb? Scientific experiments have taken place that confirms babies are aware of what is going on around them.

I have linked a fascinating video below on prenatal development and what babies learn in the womb. As you watch it, think in terms of how you can influence your baby spiritually! Click Here

Jeremiah 1:5 — before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations”

(God has ordained every child for a purpose! And if Satan can’t get us to stop our babies from being born, he will do his best to stop the plan of God and the destiny for their lives.

Let’s cover our babies in prayer!

We’ve got to cover our babies in prayer, not just for physical health and strength, but covering them with the precious blood of Jesus over the plan of God for their lives.

If fetuses like John the Baptist can be filled with the spirit while still in the womb,

If a Jacob and Esau can fight for supremacy in the womb,

If parents can impact their unborn infants by praying over them, prophesying over them, speaking the word over them etc.

If children can have significant emotional impact both positive and negative while still in the womb, then it stands to reason that we as parents, grandparents and children’s ministers can continue to minister to their little spirits in our church nurseries and in our homes as they grow and develop.

Don’t wait till they get older

Don’t ignore this area of their lives. Don’t wait till they get older to start teaching them about God.

Our babies and infants can learn to praise God and silence the foes and avengers! But we have to teach them!

This will happen in the way we speak to them, the music we play around them, the books we read to them, and regularly exposing them to the word of God! Be careful about the people you allow in your homes. Even the kids’ tv shows and movies we play in front of them matter.
