Be ready to choose whom you will serve

By Elizabeth Prata

Romans 8:38 comes to mind,

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Do you believe this? Believe it!

And also remember, Jesus said we all will be pressed someday to choose the state government, or act for Christ in dangerous or uncomfortable circumstances. I wrote that very line 12 years ago on my blog (at Blogger) and some commenters disbelieved that it could ever happen in the United States. Well, it’s happening.

The Elders and the pastor at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley CA, led by John MacArthur, chose God over State. For that choice, they were repeatedly sued and harassed by government, and even from evangelical quarters, mocked and pressured to submit. Phil Johnson posted an essay about it, including just some of the draconian and insupportable restrictions the County placed upon their worship. Here is a news article relating the news that the Church had won their suit against the State and the County for untoward and illegal intrusion into worship matters.

Perhaps not as severe as what others are experiencing right now, especially in Afghanistan, but the day will come and has already come in some US states when a Christian here in the US will be faced with a choice- submit to government or submit to God. What will you do? Prepare your heart now…the End Time era has been ongoing since the ascension of Jesus, but is it the end of the End Time? Many think it might be. Prepare with scripture hidden in your heart, clinging to the cross, and looking up to Jesus who is ministering in heaven.

Be prepared, and keep your lamps lit. You are also to be like people who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door for him when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will prepare himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and he will come up and serve them. Whether he comes in the second watch, or even in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves. (Luke 12:35-38)
