Finding a woman’s worth in this world happens when she finds her worth in God’s word first.

Romans 16:1-2 (NIV)

“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.”

We can all try to get our worth from the world surrounding us, but finding worth in the world will leave us feeling worthless.

The world around us tells us that our worth comes from what we own, or what we look like. But worth is not determined by man’s assessment.

From beginning to end the Bible affirms women, who have intrinsic value because they—just as men—are created in God’s image.

God made women and men to represent Him. There is no greater worth than that.

The worth of women has been a subject of controversy from the very beginning. But a right understanding of the worth of women benefits everyone. In their book, “Worthy—Celebrating the Value of Women“, authors Elyse Fitzpatrick and Eric Schumacher share from the pages of Scripture the worth and role of women as prescribed by God.
