1 Corinthians 6 verse 18

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

1. There is a sin that is always pursuing you to catch up with you.
2. I pray that Sex sin shall not catch up with you in Jesus’ name
3. Adultery caught up with David, the man after God’s heart. Adultery shall not catch up with you in Jesus’ name
4. Fornication caught up with Samson the most powerful man divinely anointed by God, fornication shall not render you powerless against the enemy in Jesus’ name
5. Strange women caught up with Solomon the wisest man on earth. I pray that se sin shall not turn your wisdom to foolishness in Jesus’ name
6. The Bible does not only ask you to resist sex sin but to physically run away from it.

 How could you overcome sexual sin?

1. Identify situations that are likely to lead to sexual acts and avoid them. Examples of such situations are:
   1. Thought of sexual acts
   2. Discussion about sexual or romantic acts especially with the opposite sex.
   3. An intimate relationship with the opposite sex e.g. as a prayer partner or study mate.
   4. Being alone in a secluded place with the opposite sex
   5. Unguarded physical body contact with the opposite sex.
   6. Wearing suggestive firms, listening to suggestive music, or reading dirty literature
2. Avoid close relationship with the opposite sex except he/she is your wife/husband
3. Don’t be alone in lonely places with someone that’s not your spouse.
4. Cut off worldly friends encouraging you to indulge in illicit sex.
5. Occupy your eyes, and ear with godly messages.
6. Be desperate to avoid sin that may lead you to hell.
7. Flee from any person tempting you into a sexual relationship
8. Make a strong decision not to engage in any sexual practices until you are married.
9. Stand by your decision.

Say ‘No’ effectively to sexual advance by doing the following

1. Use and repeat the word ‘No’
2. Say ‘NO’ with your body language e.g. your facial expression, your gesture, tone of your voice, etc.
3. Walk away from the scene (where it is possible)
4. Give your life to Christ. Become born again.
5. Attend a Bible-believing Church where you are taught to live in righteousness and holiness.
6. Do not be idle, always be in the presence of God.
7. Read your Bible daily.
8. Pray and fast to mortify and kill your flesh.
9. Be determined to make heaven.
10. Let the fear of God rule you, make up your mind to walk with God.
