SATAN HAS NO HEAVENLY ACCESS

Memorise: “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” (Psalm 139:7)

Read: Job 1:6-12

One passage of scripture that has been highly misunderstood by believers, is today’s reading. It is commonly believed and taught that since Satan was once an angel of God, he still has access into Heaven and freely mingles with God’s angels.

The foundation of such erroneous teaching is hinged upon today’s reading, as well as passages that say that Satan was in or out of God’s presence. Proponents of this teaching have failed to define what constitutes God’s presence. Is God’s presence found only in the heavenly planet?

“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” (Psalm 139:7). If Psalm 139:7-12 is anything to go by, God’s presence is where God or His Spirit is. His presence according to that passage is in Heaven, hell, the farthest parts of the seas, in the dark and infact, everywhere. God is everywhere at anytime.

Apart from this, God makes His presence felt in the midst of His church. Hence His presence can be felt where two or three people are gathered in His name (Matthew 18:20). As a believer, you can access God’s presence right in the confines of your room.

Accepting the error that Satan still goes into Heaven is injurious to our faith. It negates divine principle on separation from unclean things (2 Corinthians 6:14-15). From the above passage, God makes it clear that there is no secret agreement between Christ and Belial, contrary to what some people teach.

If Satan accesses the heavenly planet to frolic with God and His angels, then God has no right to forbid His children from associating with the children of the devil. Similarly, if it was true that such access exists, believers have every right to doubt the integrity of God and His Word. It casts aspersion on God’s holiness. But it is not so!

Those who preach such heresy fail to appreciate the strigent conditions required for Heaven. Satan was cast out of Heaven because of sin. Why? Revelation 21:27 says nothing that defiles or lies can enter Heaven. If a liar cannot, can the father of liars enter? It also says only those whose names are written in the book of the Lamb would enter.

Is Satan a born again Christian for his name to enter that book? John 10:10 talks of Satan’s three-fold ministry – steal, kill, destroy. If Satan is allowed into Heaven, you can be sure he will disturb the peace, stability and progress of the planet, and spearhead another revolt! Satan has no heavenly access! Neither does any sinner!

Proverbs 18:16 says the portion of the earth you can dominate is determined by the size and quality of your gift. An ant’s offering cannot create an elephant’s space.
