Helmet of Salvation, How Does That Work?

King Solomon was the wisest man on earth! God granted him incredible wisdom. But Satan turned the king’s life away from God by using his carnal desire for the love of women to replace God.

If Satan can do that to Solomon, how can we possibly defend against him?

First, understand that Satan has ultimately been defeated. However, he and his demons are still working to turn each of us away from God, just as Solomon was.

God has gifted to us His wisdom in dealing with evil.

The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 6, has shown us the armor God provides to protect us, if we use as directed. Have you ever experienced a difficult time in your life that left you asking, “God, are you there?” It is Satan sowing seeds of doubt. Or, have you ever sinned, again, and thought to yourself, “I’ll never be good enough?” Satan, again. Discouragement and doubt are Satan’s principal objectives to diminish our belief in God.

The Helmet of Salvation is our tool for defense against Satan.

Secure in our salvation, turning our lives over to Jesus, knowing we have Almighty God to call on, provides us with the mental strength to keep Satan’s attempts at influencing us away.

    As Christians, we have power!

When feeling doubtful or discouraged, call on Jesus. Ask Him to bolster your belief. Be confident in His response.

Heavenly Father, Satan and our bad habits have been in control for too long. Please guide us in the usage of the armor You provide. Save us from the evil in this world by focusing our thoughts on our salvation and the power that results from Your Grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When God Throws a Little Bit of “All Things” in Your Life

I love Romans 8:28. Now, let me be honest…sometimes I don’t. When I am going through a dark time of loss or disappointment, and someone throws a sloppy coat of Romans 8:28 on my open wound, I just want to scream. There. I said it. Paul wrote: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, Read more...

What does it mean to have childlike faith?

What do you think of when you hear the word “childlike?”For many of us, “childlike” might bring to mind something immature, foolish, or naive. Yet when Jesus talked about childlike faith, he wasn’t asking us to be any of these things. He was inviting us into something pure, trusting, and real. This week, I got to help lead worship at a kids' camp. Watching the kids worship was such a beautiful reminder of what childlike faith truly looks like. These kids worshiped, prayed, and talked about God.
