How to ensure Gods presence in our lives

Memorise: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid , neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:9)Read: Exodus 3:10-12

God's presenceIn 2 Kings 6:1-7, students of the prophetic school met Elisha to take permission before erecting a bigger school. We must discuss all our plans with God before any action is taken. Also, after their discussion with Elisha, he permitted them. This shows that God is interested in expansion. The Almighty God wants it to be well with you. God does not benefit from your sorrow, poverty or pain.

Infact, if you remain poor, it may be difficult for you to win souls to Christ. They may question why your God cannot take care of you. According to the story, one of the sons of the prophets who was very smart was not contented with obtaining permission but further asked Elisha to come with them. And he obliged.

This year, do not go anywhere unless God is prepared to follow you. Today, one reason many believers are going round in circles is because they fail to involve God in their daily activities. They limit God to a secondary role – nothing more. But if you could ask Moses, he would tell you that the secret of success is the divine presence.

In today’s reading, God assured Moses of His presence in an assignment. In Joshua 1:9, God told Joshua, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid , neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest”. As long as God is with you, you are bound to prosper.

According to Acts 10:38, the secret of the success of Jesus Christ while on earth was God’s abiding presence. This year, the Lord will be with you. Also, we see that true to his promise, Elisha followed them. This reminds us that God is not a liar. When He makes promises, He keeps them (Num 23:19). The ability to keep promises falls in the realm of integrity. Today, many do not know what integrity is. They say one thing but do something entirely different.

Many men of God have lost their integrity. If you cannot keep to your word, your position, anointing and eternity are all mortgaged. Every lie a servant of God tells makes him to misrepresent God. I do not know of a lying God but only of the father of all liars – Satan. If you lie as a leader, you are headed for eternal hell, your ecclesiastical position notwithstanding.

Watch your tongue! Don’t promise what your power cannot perform. Pray that God will be with the President and Vice President of this nation and that they will serve the people in righteousness, equity and justice.
