Memorise: “Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread” ( Prov 20:13)Read: 2 Kings 4:1-7

images (1)An individual can be blinded to what can destroy him. The fellow can also be blinded to good things that are coming towards him. In any way you have been blinded, the Lord will open the eyes of your mind in Jesus’ Name. Another possibility here is being blinded to opportunities around you. Opportunities are the raw materials that must be processed in order to get to your ultimate destination. As long as you do not take advantage of the opportunities you have, you can never fulfil your destiny. One secret of those who are outstanding is their ability to identify opportunities when they see them. Your link with the man of God provides you opportunities. In 2 Kings 4:8-17, the Shunammite woman had a great opportunity lurking around her by virtue of her link with Elisha. For so long, she refused to use that opportunity. As long as she refused to use what she had, she remained barren until God intervened in mercy. The medium of releasing her desired child had been with her all the while but she never utilized the opportunity until it was almost too late. She was blind all along. Has your access to a genuine man of God paid off?

Similarly, what you already have could provide you with the opportunity you need to reach your goal. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, the oil, friendly neighbors, neighbors’ vessels, two sons, the man of God and ability to ask, were there all the while but the prophet’s widow never saw the possibilities in them. While she had what could turn around her debt situation, she lamented daily but remained in poverty.

It took the prophet of God to open her eyes to see that what she was expecting from Heaven was with her at home. Do you know that the talent that will bring you to the limelight is already with you? On the other hand, you may need to enrol in a course or acquire more skills or training to make you proficient. Do you know that if you can combine all your material, spiritual and intellectual assets, you will have the opportunities to get wealth, excel, and be outstanding?

Some people never see the opportunities in their assets so they die in sorrow, pain and debt. Are you in tears over your so-called predicament? Stop those tears! What do you have? You can use what you have to get what you need or desire. Ask God to open your eyes today. This year, you will see and take advantage of all opportunities coming your way in Jesus’ Name.

Lord, open the eyes of our youths to opportunities surrounding them.
