How to stop worrying and trust God

Memorise: “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” (Matt 6:27)Read: Matthew 6:25-27
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (Jn 1:12).A man who had been chain-smoking for years, gave his life to Christ. Not long after he went back to his cigarettes. He kept battling with a relapse of his Christian faith until one day the brother who led him to the Lord plainly told him: “If you truly took that decision to follow Jesus, then God has forgiven and saved you.The power to overcome this sinful habit has been released. But you have to choose whether to enforce your rights or not. As long as you fail to receive and use the power, you will remain enslaved to smoking”. The day you received Jesus Christ into your heart, power was released. But the power may not work until you exercise it. Change occurs in the process of exercising it.
You cannot live holy until you receive and exercise the power from above.
A sister once invited me to lunch. After I accepted to be her guest, she became troubled. Apparently, she gave the invitation expecting that I would turn it down. She was worried as to whether I would enjoy the meal. She prayed and fasted before the appointed day.
After enjoying the meal on my visit, I asked her, “How were you able to prepare such a delicious meal?” She said it was the Holy Spirit who assisted her. John 15:5 says without Jesus we can do nothing. How often do you present your fears before the Lord and allow His power to take control? Yes, God cares so much for you – even up to what you will prepare for your visitors.
Do you ask Him for help? Many have taken worry as an option. It is not ! You cannot cast your cares on Him and be worrying at the same time. Stop worrying, and start trusting. If you worry, it will reflect on your face. If you trust Him, it will also reflect in your countenance. Attitudes also show whether one is worrying or trusting. Learn to completely depend on Him for all the needs in your life.
Matthew 6:27 says your worrying cannot accomplish anything positive. It lacks power to increase, rather, it will diminish the good things it meets.
When God worries about a matter, He will solve it. When you worry about it, your attempt to solve it may compound it.
