Just Sit Still!

She is adorable though!

you ever said this to your child?

My
11 month year old daughter is the most wriggly child I have ever
seen. She hates
to be still. I'll be halfway through changing her nappy, when I'll
reach for her new nappy. In that instant, she'll roll over and be
halfway across the room. One time she had a nappy which had her dirty
all up her back. I had to get my husband to hold her down, so I could
get her clean. Otherwise I would just be trying to hold her still the
whole time and wouldn't be able to wipe her!

One
time she was sick and she had five dirty nappies in one day. Three of
those times I had to rechange her clothes. I think I cried at the
last nappy change for the day! I was so worn out trying to change her
because the whole thing is a battle!

In
the bath, she'll get on her knees, hold onto the edge and rock back
and forth. In the summer I'd put her in a little paddling pool. But
she'd either crawl out or lie on her tummy against the side and pick
grass or rock back and forth!!

The
other day she was very grumpy while I was trying to make lunch. I got
out the front pack and attempted to put her in. It was hopeless
because I was trying to sort out the straps while she was struggling
to get out. I gave up on that.

All
because she doesn't like to be still.

God
has reminded me through her how I don't like to be still either. I
like to be busy doing this and that. I'm like Martha—busy, busy,
busy doing good things.

 Busy doing things for God and yet too busy to
just be still and spend time with Him.

Busy with unimportant things while having no time for what is most important.

I
wonder if God feels frustrated with me, like I sometimes feel
frustrated at my little girl?
