LEAKING VESSELS

Memorise: “And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him” (Judges 16:20)

    Read: Judges 16:19-21

According to Romans 6:23, every sin has its wages. Whether they are paid now or later, what is important is that they will be paid at some point. For whatever sin you commit on earth, God could use human beings, demons or situations and circumstances to punish you.

But considering how deeply wounded God feels when people engage in sexual immorality, He personally supervises their punishments. This is because the fornicator is trading the Lord’s body to Satan. In your place of work, watch out that lady who is paying you several visits and offering to become your friend.

Just casual friendship. That is how it starts; before long, she will become the mistress almost tearing your home apart. Be wise and avoid every possible avenue for defilement, so that the anointing of God can flow through you.

Another way the pentecostal fire is being put out is through oil leakage. As long as there is kerosene in the lantern and the wick is intact, the fire will burn. But if holes are created under the lantern, the kerosene will leak out.

For many of us, the oil supplying energy to the fire has leaked out. After a leakage comes dryness and darkness. Some ministers today are so preoccupied with preaching to the detriment of their spiritual wellbeing.

They jump from Maiduguri to Sokoto. From there to Port-Harcourt. They minister late yet have no time to refill. No time to recharge their battery. By the time they kneel to pray, they fall asleep.

It is only a foolish minister that will get so engrossed with the work that he finds no time to commune with and give feedback to the owner of the work. Without recharging your battery,

you cannot help ministering in the flesh which will bring no fruit to the Kingdom. Also, Satan is very happy to wear you out with activities, so that after series of body abuse, you may die before your time, and he will have a little respite.

Take a look at your life today and find out what is making the anointing to leak out of your life. Is it lack of recharge or refill? Is it through backbiting, gossiping or talking too much? Is it as a result of prayerlessness, inability to study God’s word, lack of preparation?

Make amends today. If Moses had rejected Jethro’s advice, he would have died much earlier. With or without you the work will continue. But if you die before your appointed time, you will account for it.
