Be the first to watch the new trailer for I Can Only Imagine 2, set to release in theaters nationwide on February 20, 2026.

Based on the breakout success of the 2018 theatrical release of I Can Only Imagine starring John Michael Finley and Dennis Quaid, this sequel continues the remarkable story of MercyMe’s Bart Millard.

“I Can Only Imagine was such a defining moment seven years ago,” says I Can Only Imagine 2 co-director Andrew Erwin. “I never dreamed there was more story to tell until we heard the story behind MercyMe’s hit ‘Even If’. Learning how Tim Timmons and Bart Millard co-wrote that song out of deep lived-faith moved us to tears.”

After the seismic success of the song I Can Only Imagine, Bart Millard (Finley) is living the dream that every pop singer aspires to … sold out arenas, devoted fans dedicated to the band, and millions of records sold. But sadly, Bart’s past threatens his family life, especially his relationship with his son Sam. When aspiring songwriter Tim Timmons (Milo Ventimiglia) joins the band for their biggest tour yet, he unwittingly inspires Bart through an unlikely friendship. This friendship forces Bart to face his past and ultimately forge new bonds with the ones he has hurt.

“Returning to the world of Imagine has been a deeply personal and profoundly moving journey—for me and for so many who helped bring this uplifting story to life,” explains co-director Brent McCorkle. “It's themes of finding gratitude in our grief and discovering beauty that rises from ashes feel more relevant now than ever.”
