New Jerusalem Has No Corruption (2)

New Jerusalem is a city of incorruptibility and resurrection. The path to this wonderful, incorruptible city is first mentioned in Acts 13. Here it is coupled with the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.New Jerusalem
13:34 God “having raised Him [Jesus] up from the dead, no longer to return to corruption….”
13:36 “David…did indeed fall asleep and was buried with his fathers and saw corruption.”
13:37 “But He whom God has raised did not see corruption.”

Our Christian experience began at the same time and in the same resurrection. First Peter 1:3-4 declares “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, unto an inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, kept in the heavens for you.”

First Peter 1:23 continues, assuring us of “having been regenerated not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, through the living and abiding word of God.” This life grows in us unto New Jerusalem. As it grows, the fallen, corrupted, natural life in us is washed away and the Lord’s incorruptible resurrection spreads in us.

There is no corruption in New Jerusalem and there will be no corruption in us when we come to the fullness of that city.
