Read: Esther 7:1-7
“And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king” (Est 7:7).

Psalm 126:1 When the LORD restored the captives of Zion, we were like dreamers.

After Esther reported Haman to king Ahasuerus, the latter said nothing. He simply walked away into the royal garden. Haman immediately recognized that he was in serious danger and began to plead for his life. One lesson from this story is the reality of a possible swift turn around in a given life or situation. For so long, Haman was the second in command. He was well respected and favoured. He was the one deciding the fate of individuals, and even the nation of the Jews. Then a report was brought to the king by the queen that Haman was behind an assassination plot against her and her people.

Suddenly, the cup with which Haman was drinking wine dropped from his hands, and he was on his knees begging the queen for his life. Imagine! The king did not remember all the years Haman supported him. All his personal sacrifices had been forgotten. In one moment the predator had become the prey. There are sins and there are sins. As you climb higher with God, certain sins cannot be tolerated. The higher you rise in the things of God, the farther you should keep from sin. If you climb up the spiritual ladder yet frolic with certain sins, you may be beyond redemption.

Ask Moses, one of the greatest leaders Israel ever had. There are certain sins you will commit at a particular spiritual height that will not only rubbish all your years of service, dedication and love for God, but also become the sole basis for Heaven’s verdict on that individual (Ezek 33:12-13). Are you advancing towards God and still toying with immorality, stealing, lies, etc.? Don’t kill yourself! Run far from sin today! In addition, from this story, we learn that it does not take God a long time to turn around a situation.

Only a moment! In a moment the Lord will reverse your situation. In a moment He will turn you from a prey into the predator. This season, the Lord is turning around your situation for good. Those things that had been working against your progress will become catalyst for growth, progress and development. Ask God to repeat the Haman-Mordecai saga in your life and situation today.
