CHOOSE YOUR BATTLE STRATEGY

Memorise: “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14)

Read: Exodus 14:28-29

God has several ways of dealing with the enemy. He can strike them with blindness (Gen 19:1-11). He can drown them like He did to the Egyptians in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:27-28). He can bury them alive (Numbers 16). He can rain heavenly explosives at them (Joshua 10:11).

He can use the enemy’s weapon to destroy him (1 Samuel 17:50-51). Sometimes, He can roast them with fire (2 Kings 1:9-12). At other times, He can make them mad (Daniel 4:32). According to Esther 7:10, He can bury the enemy in his pit.

Also, He can violently uproot the enemy by a sudden judgement of death (Acts 5:1-11). Or, paralyze the enemy (Psalm 23:5). The size, strength, forcefulness and commitment of the enemy to attack you will determine the method God will choose, viz-a-viz His eternal plan and purpose. The Lord will subdue all your enemies in Jesus’ Name.

On the other hand, there are at least five major avenues through which you can handle the battles against your life. The first is to pretend that no enemy exists. Some people think that enemies are created only when they believe in their existence, and that if they dismiss such a thought from their minds, they would never be confronted by one.

They could never be more wrong! Believe it or not, you have at least two enemies: the first is your flesh and the second is the devil (1 Peter 5:8). The devil does not work alone but with billions of demons and human agents. And they are very organized (Eph 6:12).

Another response to battles is to run from it. Running from a battle only brings a temporary relief. It does not terminate it. It is those who run that are continually chased. If you do not stop running away from witches and wizards in your village, you will run for life. Stop that rat race or you will be hit! Remember, God has no protection for your back!

A third way to handle a battle is to pay somebody to do it for you while you go into hiding. Some people still pay some prophets or commercial pastors to burn candles for them to secure victory. This is deceptive. Some of those people may tell you they are fasting for you, but they are feasting at your expence.

They will make merchandise of you! Besides, Jeremiah 17:5-6 says trusting in such men attract curses. You could also face a battle yourself using your limited strength. You would soon get tired. But if it is a spiritual battle, you cannot contain it with physical efforts and weapons.

Hence the fifth method is preferable. Let God fight for you while you praise Him (Isaiah 40:31). Which method are you adopting today?

Any battle or issue you run from, waits to disgrace you in future. The longer you leave it, the stronger or tougher it becomes. It is wisdom to fight your battles now!
