TOPIC:                  PRAYER OF INTERCESSION

TEXT:                     2 CHRONICLES 6:35-42, 7:12-22

INTRODUCTION:

By intercession, we mean someone coming between two people or groups of people with a view to reconciling them. The one who entreats for another is called an intercessor. He pleads he case of one before the other with a view of making the offender repent and forsake his ways, which were offensive to the other.

 Jesus is our mediator who paid the price for our sins with His blood. Today the Holy Spirit whom He gave to us is still interceding on behalf of them before God. “… be ye reconciled unto God”2 Corinthian 5:20b and also intercede for others to be reconciled to Him because it is the will of God that all men be saved.

QUESTIONS:

1.       Why is there need for intercession? 6vs. 24, 26, 28, 7vs 13

Pray for salvation, pray for their healing, prayer for their deliverance, protection. Pray for People’s need, pray for backsliders

2.       What are the duties of an intercessor? 7vs 14

3.       How can an offender avert an impending danger looming over his or her head?  7vs 17

5.       What are the blessing that follow an intercessor and those who he reconciles back to God vs 15 – 18

MEMORY VERSE 2 Chronicles 7:14 – if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways then will Ihear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
