Apart from warning against imminent judgement, revealing sinful intentions and guiding believers from making mistakes, God can use the gift of the word of knowledge to warn you about an impending danger. According to our reading, there was a battle between the kings of Syria and Israel.

The king of Syria strategized and drew out his war plans in his secret chambers. But the Lord showed his plans to Elisha who sent to notify the king of Israel where the danger spots were. In the process, he and his men were saved several times. At a point the king of Syria believed a member of his war planning committee was going behind to betray him.

A minister through this gift was shown how his senior pastor made a phone call to somebody of repute, telling him not to award the contract he had earlier promised him. He heard the conversation clearly. The following day or so, when he called the V.I.P, the latter confirmed he received a call from the senior pastor although he did not disclose the details.

With one excuse or the other, that was how that contract was cancelled. Are you a child of God? Then you need this gift. With it, you will know who truly is your friend. You will be informed of the plans of your enemies ahead of time and will be able to contain them.

Similarly, in Acts 27:9-10, through the word of knowledge, Paul was informed of their trip. He warned the captain of how dangerous that journey would be, but the captain checked up with his notes and training guides and saw nothing.

He ignored the warning and they sailed off. That journey was a tragedy. They lost virtually everything. When a true prophet of God tells you something, it is good to take it seriously because it will surely happen. Some people take such warnings with levity.

Some pray for five minutes and leave off. Eventually, what was revealed which could have been prevented through intense prayers and fasting materializes. Be wise today. Your destiny is in your hands. Do not let it slip into the hands of your enemies.

Ask God to turn the ‘caterpillars’ in each parish into ‘pillars’.

Pray that God will expose the enemy’s plans against you ahead of time.
