RELEASE YOUR BEST

Memorise: “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts” (Zech 4:6) Read: Zech 4:5-7

zechIn Ecclesiastes 10:5-7, we read that it is an abnormal thing for princes to trek and servants to ride on horses. To ride on horse back is to make unusual progress. In a few days, a small and fragile church of 120 members moved to a super mega church of 8,120 congregation. When you ride on horse back, your progress could be in excess.

This was what Pastor Peter’s church experienced in Acts 5:12-14. The raw power of God was released and it manifested in signs, wonders, and continuous church growth. This was not the effort of the apostles but God in action. Zechariah 4:6 says, “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts”.

If you learn to play your part so well in any partnership that involves God and man, God will take up His part. How He does His, depends on how you do yours. It will also be determined by His mercy. But one thing is sure: the day that He says it is no longer by your power but by His Spirit, you should jubilate because from that time you will make effortless progress. Many believers do not get to experience such progress because they have not exhausted what they should do for the Kingdom.

Peter delivered his most anointed sermons and God gave him a commensurate harvest. If you cannot give God your best effort, He will not give you His best harvest. If Peter had preached dry sermons at the feast of Pentecost, he might have earned a beating, not a soul. Preacher, as long as you keep dishing out those dry, flesh-baked messages, you can never get God’s best.

Some believers have become too fixed in their offerings. Some cannot go above a particular amount. As long as you reserve the best, God reserves His too. It is greed and spiritual covetousness to sow your least or little and expect a bountiful harvest. You are a thief! Remember God will always use the same container you gave with to return your harvest.

Do you truly want to move to the era of effortless progress? Do you want God to take over your battle as He did to Israel in Exodus 14:14? Then bring out your best effort, gift, prayer, worship, thanksgiving and give it to Him today. It is in your power. It is a choice only you can make.

Some have not given their best because they have not taken time to determine it.
