Rich Grace Brings Forth God’s Glory

The New Testament encourages us to receive the abundance of God’s grace and promises that by it we will reign in His eternal life.New Jerusalem

This grace has many riches for us, beginning with the forgiveness of our offenses in Ephesians 1:7 leading all the way to the “display in the ages to come the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” in verse 2:7. This display surely extends into New Jerusalem.

Romans 5:2 puts grace and glory near each other: “we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand and boast because of the hope of the glory of God.” And 1 Peter 5:10 tells us that the God of grace has called us into His glory: “the God of all grace, He who has called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus…”

Ephesians 1:6 also speaks of “the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He graced us in the Beloved.” The display of the riches of His grace results in the praise of the glory of His grace. Eternally, the display and the praise are a matter of New Jerusalem, a city of grace and of glory.
