Sermon illustration and examples of spiritual blindness

Memorise: “Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Cor 11:15)Read: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

blindnessSome people are blinded to what will destroy them. This accounts for wrong choice in marriage, career, job or even ministerial engagements. Some people are presently fellowshipping or ministering in their church just because they are blinded to where they ought to be. A few years ago, a brother had a revelation about a popular man of God. Until that revelation, he held him in high esteem and defended him against certain accusations. In it, he went to meet the man of God for prayers. He knelt before him and told him his two areas of need. Then he closed his eyes as the man of God began to pray. During the prayer, he observed that the pastor removed the fingers he placed on his eyes and later returned them. But when he did, he felt something on the pastor’s finger rubbing against his eyelids. After the prayer, he got up and saw a bowl containing some black powdery stuff and a dagger on the table. As he got up, it suddenly dawned on him that he had just been initiated by the ‘man of God’. As he left, he observed all his members had patches of the black powder on their faces. He also realized that they were already initiated. The brother was angry in his spirit and he immediately began to renounce any covenant he had entered into by coming to that supposed gospel church. As he came out of that revelation, he organized prayers of deliverance for his children.

n the past, his children had taken that ‘man of God’ as their mentor and had hoped to be like him someday. But with this experience, he rebelled against all he stood for and banished them from watching him on television. Subsequently, the Lord kept revealing more things about this ‘man of God’ and how he was transferring contrary spirits into members.

Not all that glitters is gold. Many so-called churches are worse than occultic centres. Why are people still attending such places? It is because their eyes of understanding are blinded. Are you sure you are where God wants you to fellowship or be in ministry? Seek God’s face for direction. Where you are will determine where you are going.

Father, if I am under the manipulation of a fallen angel where I worship, in your mercy reveal it to me and relocate me where you want me to be.
