Sermon on the power of vision and godly dreams

Posted on July 7, 2014

Memorise: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Hab 2:3)

Read: Isaiah 43:10-13

Dreams can be a very strong motivating force that can see you through the difficulties of life. Never give up your dream. Has God shown you or promised you that it shall be well with you? Believe it and stick with it. It will surely come to pass. “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Habakkuk 2:3).Your dream will surely speak – that is, it shall materialize. But always remember God has an appointed time for the dream to manifest. You shall not die before the time of manifestation. Are you poor but God has told or shown you that you shall be rich? Hold on to it. It shall be fulfilled at God’s appointed time.

One thing God is interested in which will also determine the outcome of a dream in your life, is how you respond to dreams. What is your response to dreams? People react differently to dreams. Never fight against a God-given dream. Isaiah 43:13 says nobody can hinder God when He has made up His mind on an issue. In the Name of Jesus, the good plans God has for you and your family shall not be hindered.

Isaiah 45:9 says judgement is upon the one who fights against his Maker. Stop struggling with God. Those who fight against God’s dream always end up as victims of the dream (2 Kings 7:1-2). Also, never ignore your God-given dream. This is because, God does not like nonchalant, lukewarm or neutral people (Rev 3:15-18). According to 2 Kings 2:6-15, those who are neutral or stand on the fence concerning salient Kingdom matters, end up as servants.

Get committed. It takes commitment to reach the top or to reach your goal. It will amaze you that those who would fight your dream may be those you never expect. If you are not committed to that dream, and they hit you below the belt, you may see yourself giving up on your dream.

Every dream has its time of fulfilment. If your brother’s dream has come to pass, rejoice with him and look forward to your time. If you do not give up on your dream, your dream will not give up on you. Neither will God. Pray regularly on your dreams and offer God thanksgiving. Research to see what Bible characters did to provoke fulfilment of their dreams.

Be instrumental in causing the dreams of others to materialize and yours will materialize too!
