Memorise: “So he that goeth into his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent” (Proverbs 6:29)

Read: Proverbs 6:24-29

According to Job 31:9-12, another evil of sexual sin is that it obey’s the law of harvest. Job said if he has enticed or laid with another man’s wife, other men would lie with his wife. In fornication, it is either you are sleeping with another man’s daughter or wife. It will surely come back following the law of harvest. Those worse hit are lecturers, employers of labour and those in positions of authority who use their vantaged positions to seduce the opposite sex.

Some employers brag about their escapades – that they have slept with all female staff in their organizations, irrespective of marital status. Fellow employers applaud them not knowing the grave they have dug for themselves. There was this pretty lady who came from a fairly comfortable home. She would sleep with all kinds of boys on the streets, in the field, and anywhere, without shame. She was possessed by demons of fornication. No man could satisfy her. Her parents tried all they could, but could not stop this show of shame. They were only reaping from an evil seed. If you don’t want an evil harvest, never plant an evil seed!

“For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction and would root out all mine increase” (Job 31:12).

Another evil of fornication is that immediately it is committed, it ignites a fire that is self-destruct. The fire burns and does not quench until it completely razes the fornicator. You cannot comprehend the havoc those few minutes of sinful sexual pleasure could do in your life!

Similarly, fornication is so powerful that it has the ability to dig into your blessings of several years, uproot them, and totally destroy your increase. Several ministers have lost gains of several years of ministry to fornication. Many believers have lost their crown of life to fornication. It erodes past and present gains, both in time and eternity. Flee from it!

Another evil of sexual sin according to verse 29 of our reading, is that it reverses the order of salvation. You cannot retain your salvation if you engage in fornication. The Holy Spirit would have left before you attempt the sin.

Fornication is a choice, it is not by mistake. All parties of fornication will suffer for the sin committed. Romans 8:1 says after you received Jesus, the condemnation over your head was taken away, and the blood of Jesus declared you innocent. But one act of fornication afterwards returns the individual to status quo – a condemned criminal.

No fornicator is guiltless. Ask God to uproot every fabric of sexual immorality in your life before it uproots you.

Pray for the progress, prosperity and fear of God to come on our nation. Ask God to cause national leaders to put the people after God.
