What is love?

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged cupid painted blind.”  Shakespeare, William.

To the ancient Greeks, ‘Love’ was defined as the madness of gods.

However, psychologists define love as a strong desire to connect with another person emotionally.

Love is many a splendid thing and means different things to many people.

How do you define love?

What is the anatomy of a great love?

The Anatomy of a Great Love

You are built on love, even when you feel at your darkest place – pause.

Sit in silence and listen to your heart, pray for guidance, and rest on hope.

Why are we so attracted to another person?

It may not just be love at first sight, your socioeconomic background, education, and family are all aligned too. Your hormones and the signals that it sends your brain all form part of the grand plan.

Love is an old topic from poets to philosophers.

But love it appears is also driven by the following factors too:

Connecting The Dots to the Anatomy of a Great Love

Scientists seem to think that it is less of a great mystery, and your biology plays a significant part in the game of love.

Indeed, these chemicals merge into a magical cocktail of love: estrogen, testosterone, dopamine, and serotonin.

It is thought that if you are a high estrogen type, you will most likely be attracted to someone with a high testosterone level.

Love on My Mind

The brain also involves three basic circuits.

These three circuits include romantic love – that floating in the clouds feeling, love at first sight; the attachment phase, and the slippers on and feeling comfortable stage – Click Here.

Love Smells – Impacts the Anatomy of a Great Love

In addition to chemical connections and biology, the way you smell adds to the magic of love.

Your smell and body odor are closely connected to your gender.

Indeed, we are all made up of genes and distinct odors, no matter who we are.

The Art of Love

Can you paint a picture of love with your heart?

The answer to that question is, Yes!

Love is a creative force, that is more than biology and chemicals.

It creates beauty and paints pictures to illuminate our lives.

Love is an art project created by the unseen eye.

Poets and artists have documented this through love poems and art since the dawn of time.

You may have enjoyed these with those you love.

Your life is also a story of love, sometimes seen and many times, unseen forces beyond all comprehension.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” Rumi

We Can Show Love

One of the greatest loves is love for one another.

It’s the love we share with a stranger in a random act of kindness, and it’s caring for our planet and the natural world by acting responsibly, by recycling, reusing, and repurposing rather than throwing items away in landfill sites.

Love has many faces, and each has the propensity to change lives and heal the world if only we stop, listen, and act accordingly with compassion, kindness, and a heart full of love.

It’s the Greatest Love of All

You may know this quote used by Franklin D. Roosevelt at his inauguration taken from the Bible:

“And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13.

The greatest love is the love that God has for His children.

Indeed, He crafted us and He adores us.

Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.

His love is the greatest love of all.

Romans 8:38-39, TPT

“So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love.

I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens.

There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love.

There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!”
