Exodus 20 vs 26

 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

  1. God discouraged the Israelites from climbing the steps of the altar because it would expose their nakedness.
  2. Any dressing that exposes your nakedness is ungodly. Exodus 20:26 Neither shall you go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness be not discovered thereon.
  3. So, God expects us to cover our nakedness in the manner we dress.
  4. If you interpret that verse, the nakedness God is talking about is your laps up to your waist because that is the area that can be exposed while climbing the altar.
  5. So, any dress that exposes your waist and lap is ungodly.

Prayer

  • Holy Spirit, deliver me from the ungodly dressing.
