    The Christmas Story Day 15

    Christmas story

All those manger scenes are wrong. Traditional, lovely, but wrong.

The wise men greeted Jesus as a toddler living in a house.

The star announced the birth of our Lord. Then the magi began their journey.

Herod in his rage wiped out (Matthew 2:16) all the male children two years and under.

It is okay to put all these characters together at the manger, for it makes for a complete story.

The church has been able to use the manger as a tool to track the miracle of the Messiah’s birth.

However, it belittles the magi’s long arduous journey of faith.

It simplifies the process of time and God’s planning.

We humans want to paint the picture with broad strokes; the beauty of God is in the details.
