THE FINAL WORD

The Lord Jesus Christ is not only Alpha but also Omega. This means He is the Ending. He is the Last. He is the final Word. Revelation 22:13 says, “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and Last”. On earth, nobody would want to be the last. Even a dunce in a class would not want to take the last position. Nobody would want to struggle for the last position in any competition because of the shame and disgrace associated with it.

Also, no one ever gets a prize for coming last. Why then would Jesus want to be last? He did not only become last but struggled to be the Last. Jesus became last so that you do not have to be last. He has occupied the last position for you His loved one so that there is no more space for you there. Beloved, you cannot afford to come last in anything you do because Jesus has already occupied that space.

He took your place in the space called last and absorbed your shame, disgrace and dishonor. That is why in Deuteronomy 28:13, He says you shall not be tail or beneath because there is no vacancy for you there. Are you frolicking with the last position or are you the tail? Check it out; something must be wrong somewhere – especially with your relationship with Christ. If Christ has taken your place in failure, how come you still fail?

Another reason Jesus is called the Last or Ending is so that He can control the end of anything, particularly the end of your life. He is the Ending so that He can give you a good ending. According to Deuteronomy 8:16, inspite of your wilderness experience, there is a great end awaiting you. Job 8:7 says, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase”.

How you started is not as important as how you will end. Many started big but ended small. Some started strong but messed up at the end of the race. Jesus is the Ending so that you can successfully terminate the race you started here on earth, in Heaven. Increase and greatness are waiting for you at the end if you are connected with the Ending.

He is the Ending so that He can have the final word – the last say in all situations and circumstances involving you. Do not be worried over what men, experts or enemies say about you: Jesus as the final say. Because He is the Ending, your future is secured. Also, He is the Ending so that He can terminate every negative occurrence in your life (Job 28:3). Worship and thank The Ending today.

Lord Jesus, because you are the Ending, let me finish strong in the Christian race.
